Insurance

OHCC is an "out of network provider" and will submit claims for clients who have PPO insurance with any insurance companies/plans that cover out-of-network providers.

That means we are not contracted with any insurance carriers.  However, instead of sending you along with a superbill to submit to your insurance company so you can get some reimbursement for sessions, we will help you with that.

To support you, we are happy to verify your benefits and file claims on your behalf.

To verify your benefits, please email the following information to nekia@oneheartcounselingcenter.com or text it to 424-262-2810:

  • Name of therapist you will be seeing at One Heart Counseling Center
  • Client name and date of birth
  • Primary policyholder name and date of birth (if different than client)
  • A photo of the front and back of your insurance card

If your PPO plan offers coverage, your insurance company will send reimbursement checks to the policy holder once your deductible is met.  That means the session fee is due at the time of your session and the reimbursement check will be sent to you within 2-4 weeks.

Payment

Cash, check and all major credit cards are accepted for payment.  We also accept HSA or FSA cards or will provide statements for you to submit to your HSA or FSA for reimbursement.

No Surprises Act

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You and your therapist will discuss session fees in your initial phone consultation.  If you decide to move forward with sessions, you will receive a Good Faith Estimate in your intake paperwork.  List of services and CPT codes for those services will be outlined.  You can save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate or access it any time through the client portal.

The Good Faith Estimate does not include length of treatment as length of treatment is based on your therapist's recommendations throughout the course of treatment given clinical expertise and case presentation such as symptoms, prognosis, progress toward goals) and your agreement with those recommendations. You can make requests to modify frequency of sessions at any time and therapy sessions can be terminated at any time.

While the above is true, over the years, we have gathered data that allows us to see the average length of treatment for clients at One Heart Counseling Center. The average length of treatment is 30 sessions. So, to estimate expenses, you can multiply your session fee by 30.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

Cancellation Policy

Sessions cancelled less than 24 hours in advance must be paid for in full.  Unfortunately, insurance will not reimburse you for late cancellations or missed appointments.

**If you have a Saturday or Sunday appointment scheduled, that appointment needs to be cancelled by Wednesday at 7pm.  If the appointment is not cancelled the Wednesday prior to your appointment by 7pm, you will be charged the full fee for the session.

This is due to the fact there is often a cancellation list for weekend appointments and we want to make sure our clients have the opportunity to be seen.
